The 6 Looks You Need to See From Last Night’s BET Awards

by Pitch Lekskul June 23, 2016

While most guys probably spent the weekend in vintage T-shirts and board shorts—or some equally casual attire—the attendees of the BET Awards broke out considerably more stylish gear. Never mind the fact that the event took place in Los Angeles yesterday, where it was something like 80 degrees. (Sweat is temporary, but looking fly is forever.) Here’s who pulled out all the stops in an interesting way and put the rest of us, in our dinky tank tops, to shame.

Bryshere Gray

In a very short time, Gray has become known on the red carpet as the guy who’s always going to go full-tilt Hollywood in some kind of flashy tuxedo and slip-on shoe. What makes that cool is that he’s 22.

Nate Parker

Future

Future accepted the award for Best Group (Drake wasn’t there) wearing a shawl-collar jacket and an array of flashy jewelry—because he is the king of accessories. While a lot of guys wore wire-frame aviators last night, we were feeling Future’s square black shades.

Kendrick Lamar

Lamar performed with Beyoncé in full-on fatigues, a white T-shirt, and lace-up boots. While the look was intentionally heavy-handed, wearing just one or two of those pieces IRL would make a statement all its own.

Young Thug

Young Thug (born Jeffrey Lamar Williams) wore a shrunken suit and an unbuttoned, untucked shirt. Even if he wasn’t forging entirely new ground with the look, it was still a stylish move.

2 Chainz

Here’s proof that even the chilliest guy can’t resist the urge to wear a dope jacket, even when it’s hot as hell outside. At least Tauheed Epps (a.k.a. 2 Chainz) made the right decision to finish off his Gucci jacket with white jeans.
